Bordier (Maison)

Artisan beurrier et fromager-affineur

Jean-Yves Bordier, dairy retailer for more than 20 years, is the owner of two shops named ‘La Fromagée’ (Cheesemakers of tradition), located in Saint-Malo and Rennes. Jean-Yves Bordier is most famous for the butter he makes ‘used by numerous top chefs’. It’s for the glory of his butter and its story that he created the ‘Maison du beurre’ in 1985. The shop has a small museum and presents his homemade butters.

The company offers churned, salted and unsalted butter in (125g and 250g portions), and butter made with algae, and piment d’Espelette. Other Bordier specialities include butter made with yuzu (Japanese grapefruit). ‘We also have two innovations, created in November 2011: vanilla and brown sugar butter, and butter made with lemon oil’, announces Jean-Yves Bordier. These are two products made for retailers and caterers.
